La Costa

This remodel was done when a couple got married and had to combine two homes and nothing went together so they had to start from scratch. They each gave up most everything they had acquired over the years and decided to remodel their home in a warm contemporary style. The tile floor was removed and new travertine installed. I designed a custom linen sectional, selected the coffee table from David Allen Collection, selected the artwork and designed the T.V. Cabinet with linen face. The area rug I selected from Outrageous Rugs.

I designed a square dining room table that David Allen built and purchased the leather dining chairs. The clients had three art glass pieces that I designed an led lit cabinet for to create drama to the space for evening entertainment.

The kitchen was the old oak raised panels with a very small pantry. I did not want to disturb the existing granite so they opted to reface instead of start from scratch. The pantry use to be single door which I extended into a double door with pull outs in every cabinet. I used frosted glass to make the kitchen feel more open and added under counter lighting for better light. I replaced all the can lights with LED lights.

The husband had already done all the tile work but had little furniture and all cactus. The wife disliked cactus so we replaced all the plantings with a softer more modern plant scape. The teak furniture added warmth to the stone surrounding. We added two restaurant style heaters to warm up the chilly evenings near the coast.

Bathroom Remodel – This was a reface on an existing old raised panel oak bathroom cabinet. We removed the tile countertop with over mount sinks and replaced with a clean Crema Marfil countertop and contemporary Kohler under mount sinks. We framed the existing mirror and changed out the light fixture…and of course the proper accessories!
